ABBY MOORE
Abby settled in Gilmer, Texas with her family when she was 12. Her dad was in the Navy so they got to live in Portugal for a while and then Virginia. He retired and she got to make a forever home in East Texas!
In high school, she was an officer on the drill team. A few weeks before graduation, she was in a single-car crash on the way to school. As a result, she became paralyzed from the chest down at the age of 17. That’s not the end of her story, but the beginning. Her friends, family, drill team instructor, and superintendent came and had her own graduation in the hospital.
She powered through rehab and was home in three months.
She went to Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin University. After that, she moved to Dallas where she worked for the Dallas Mavericks.
When she moved back to East Texas, she found out she was pregnant and had her first child, Aidan Christopher! 4 years later she had Abriana Kate!
Aidan is a senior at East Texas Charter School in Longview and is a purple belt in Taekwondo.
Abriana is an 8th grader in Gilmer and is the drum major for the band and a majorette. She also is in competitive twirling.
They are her biggest blessings and she is their biggest fan! You can always catch her at all of their events, practices, and school functions.
